These terms cover your use of the ForkScape desktop application, the browser playground at try.forkscape.com, and this website, all operated by ForkScape ("we", "us"). By using them you agree to these terms. Written to be read, not skimmed past — it's short.

The software and your license

ForkScape is a local-first desktop app. The Free plan is the full local core — not a trial. Paid plans (Pro, Lifetime) are activated by an offline license key emailed after purchase. Your key is licensed to you: use it on any machines you personally use, don't publish it, resell it, or mint keys for others. Subscription keys stop validating when the subscription lapses; Lifetime keys don't expire.

Your content and your API keys

Your canvases, files, prompts, and AI-provider API keys live on your machine. We don't host them, can't see them, and don't want them. When you connect a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, a local model, or any other), your use of that provider is governed by their terms and billed by them — ForkScape is an interface, not a reseller of model access. You're responsible for what you generate and for having the rights to files you load in.

The browser playground

The free playground routes through a capped model allowance we pay for. It's a demo: fair-use limits apply per visitor and per day, don't rely on it for production work, and don't try to script or bulk-extract it. It may change or be paused at any time.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record — Paddle handles checkout, invoicing, and sales taxes, and their buyer terms also apply. Refunds: see our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use ForkScape to break the law, to attack systems you don't own or have permission to test, or to violate the terms of AI providers you connect. Agent features can run commands and write files on your machine — you direct them, and the results are yours to review.

Warranty and liability

ForkScape is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. AI output can be wrong; verify before you rely on it. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms materially we'll note it here with a new date. Continued use after a change means acceptance. Questions: support@forkscape.com.
